What is FERRALIUM 255?

What is FERRALIUM 255?

FERRALIUM 255 is a duplex alloy with a high strength to weight ratio with superior abrasion and cavitation resistance. Resistance to chloride SCC, as well as crevice corrosion and pitting. Good ductility with a high fatigue strength in marine applications.

What is alloy 255?

Alloy 255 is a 25% chromium super duplex stainless steel. Alloy 255 contains a copper addition which provides it with greater resistance to sulfuric acid than other super duplex grades.

What is ER2209?

ER2209 filler metal is designed to weld duplex stainless steels such as UNS Number N31803. The welds are characterized by high tensile strength and improved resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting. The wire is lower in ferrite compared to that of base metal in order to obtain improved weldability.

What is super duplex stainless steel?

SuperDuplex stainless like Duplex, is a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite (50/50) which has improved strength over ferritic and austenitic steel grades. The main difference is that Superduplex has a higher Molybdenum and Chromium content which gives the material greater corrosion resistance.

What is ER2594?

ER2594 is a super duplex stainless steel used for welding matching. or similar alloys such as ASTM A890, UNS S31260(DP-3), S32750 (2507), S32760 J93380 (Zeron 100), S32550 (Ferralium 255). Also found for welding UNS S32550, J93370, and J03372 when used without sulfurous and sulfuric service conditions.

What is super duplex alloy?

What is 308L welding rod used for?

INERTROD 308L is used for the welding of 304 and 304L grade stainless steel. The weld metal has good corrosion resistance properties, including intergranular attack from a range of liquid media at service temperatures <300°C.

What is DSS welder?

Duplex stainless steels (DSS) [22% Cr] and super duplex stainless steels (SDSS) [25% Cr] are composed of unique ferrite/austenite microstructure which makes them superior material than conventional AISI 316 austenitic stainless steels [1], [2]. Super duplex stainless steels are upgraded versions of DSS.

Also sold under the brand name of Ferralium® Alloy 255, this cost effective alloy has a number of beneficial characteristics including: In order to be labeled as Stainless Steel Alloy 255, an alloy must contain the following chemical composition:

What are the characteristics of stainless steel alloy 255?

Stainless Steel Alloy 255 is a solid strengthened alloy that offers high strength and outstanding wear resistance. Also sold under the brand name of Ferralium® Alloy 255, this cost effective alloy has a number of beneficial characteristics including: Resistance to corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-stress corrosion cracking

What is the forge temperature for Ferralium 255?

The alloy may be forged in the range 2100/1830ºF (1150/1000ºC) and forging must be followed by a solution anneal.

What makes Ferralium a good stainless steel alloy?

This is a high-strength super duplex stainless steel with very good resistance to sulphuric acid and to sea water. The alloy shows excellent ductility and impact strength at both ambient and sub-zero temperatures.
