Why is the serives light not working on my Silverado?

The switch panal lights for the 4×4 will not come on. Not a problem because I was in 2H. I had recenetly replaced the battery and the service light went out. I was not able to switch into 4H but was able to switch to 4Low. Upon doing this, the serives light came back on.

Why is my 4WD switch not lighting up?

Is the service 4WD light on on my GMC Sierra 1500?

4×4 buttons red light is on ,neutral. I had a “Service 4WD” msg pop up out of no where. Looks like it might be the switch based on what I’m reading out here. Wow…quality job #29.

While driving in 2wd it will go in to neutral, but the light shows that it in 2wd and the shifter shows it is in D. I have to pull over and stop put it in park and put it in auto 4 wheel drive and it will work on auto but it always seems to be in four-wheel drive.

What to do when your Silverado is stuck in 4WD Low?

When it was stuck in 4 low I would take out the fuse ( on left side of dash) for the four wheel drive and wait for a minute or so and it would reset itself. Had the switch replaced but that was not the problem. Took it to the dealer and it turned out to be an actuator. I dont remember but think it was close to 300 bucks to have them fix it.
