How can I tell if my Ford Ranger 4×4 is malfunctioning?
To determine which of these three is malfunctioning, have your friend sit near the module. Press the 4X4 button and ask your friend to listen for the sound of the relays in the 4X4 module. If the relays can be heard, the problem with the 4X4 lies in the 4X4 module computer or the shift motor.
Where is the crank sensor on a Ford Ranger?
Pins 21 & 22 at the PCM connector go to the crank sensor. With the multimeter set to AC voltage I verified that the crank sensor produced an ac voltage signal between .4 and 2.0 volts when the engine was being cranked (per other threads).

Re: Does the 1991 Ranger 3.0L have a OBD port? Found the OBD-1 port. It is on the passenger side, under the hood, by the power distribution panel. It’s connected under the cap that says EEC Test. I bought a OBD-1 scanner with extension cord, for $29 on ebay, but now that I’ve got it running, I’ve not gotten around to checking for codes.

Is there no power at the OBDII port?
Even replaced it with a known good fuse, but still no power to the Cigar lighter or the OBDII port. I just did a quick test with my multi-meter and I do have power on one side of the blade fuse socket, but nothing at the OBDII port or at the lighter. Has anyone run across this before?
