Why does my scooter not run on fuel?

Why does my scooter not run on fuel?

Fuel flow problems can be caused by a clogged fuel filter, a clogged fuel line, a faulty fuel supply valve or a faulty fuel pump (on those scooters that use one). One way to bypass all these components is to rig up a temporary gravity fed fuel flow directly to the carburetor.

What should I do if my scooter won’t start?

Got my fingers crossed Okay, one more time, find the small diameter vacuum line that goes to the front of the carb. No fuel should come out of this line. Pull it off the carb and suck on the end of it, yes that’s what I said, suck on the vacuum line. This should open the fuel valve and fuel should rush to the carb.

Which means under low vacuum it closes, it is spring loaded also so this is the problem. When you start the scooter it doesn’t create enough vacuum at times to open this valve and feed fuel to the injector. I take the vacuum line off and cut it and put an inline vacuum check valve or “one way” valve.

Why does my scooter have so much gas in it?

When a vacuum fuel pump or regulator fails, gasoline starts to be sucked through the vacuum line back into the engine. Now you have way more gasoline entering the cylinder and causing a very rich running condition even though you can’t find anything wrong with your carb.
