Why does my Ford F-150 crank but wont start?

Some times it would start and some times all it would do is crank over. I just checked #27 fuse under the hood and sure enough, it had been getting hot and melting plastic over the connection on one side of the fuse. Guess that explains why sometimes it would start and sometimes it wouldnt.
