Now you take the cut wire that leads toward the Passlock module (NOT toward the ignition barrel) and connect the other end of the resistor to this wire, being sure to tape it to protect against shorting. Once that is done, be sure to tape the exposed cut wire that leads to the ignition barrel.

How does a GM PassLock bypass system work?

Every GM security system works on this one simple principle: The Key/Lock component sends an input signal to the TDM/BCM through the wiring. When the TDM gets the right input signal, it produces an output signal that allows the engine to start. That’s all it does. Because the Resistor is NOT a Passlock Bypass!

Is there a problem with the PassLock sensor?

The short answer is there’s a problem with the sensor. Some have suggested that the pins in the system are “tin” plated and subject to oxidization over time. Others say their system is possessed by the devil and in need of an exorcist.

How much of a value can a PassLock system accept?

You can be within about 5% of the value, and it will be accepted by the passlock system as genuine. Once you have assembled the resistors so they represent the correct value, tightly wrap one end of the resistor through and around the exposed copper of the black wire.
