If you’re unable to eject or load your CDs, the most likely culprit is a blown fuse. Pop the hood of your truck to access your vehicle’s fuse panel. Locate the radio fuse, which is 15 amps. Remove the fuse for several seconds, and then reinsert it. This will “re-set” the software program that controls the radio. Check your radio.

Why does my CD player keep ejecting discs?

The other common problem, actually perhaps more so, is that the disc platter motor (the motor that spins the little round surface the disc sits on in the center) may be failing or gone. Again, if the disc is not readable, and a disc that isn’t spinning is not, it will be ejected.

What should I do if my CD player won’t play?

If you can handle only playing regular CDs and the player will load them but won’t load HD- or DVD-Audio then you can do that and use the time to save up for the bokubucks repair. Also, I have to give you a reality-check here. Autosound heads/decks are fashion items, sadly. They change yearly or so, even if there’s no need.

Make an appointment for faster service. If the issue is mechanical (meaning it does not apply to a software issue), your local dealership would need to run diagnostics on your entire audio system. If your Silverado is under warranty, you can have your CD player replaced at no cost to you.

These units use a rubber roller to load and eject the CD’s. Over time, the roller can become dirty and lose its gripping power. If this is the only issue, it can be cleaned, and I would recommend denatured alcohol. In my case, the roller was dirty, but this was not the only problem.

Why is my CD player not working in my Honda Pilot?

All CDs play but the two in rhe changer won’t eject, the CD in the main slot plays and ejects. I’m hoping the changer will work after I get the two CDs out. The 6 disc CD player in my 2005 Pilot won’t play, and it starts rotating and trying to spit out CDs (even though there no CDs in there) every time I start my engine and turn off my engine.
