A clicking noise in the shifter box area started yesterday when I press the brake pedal while in Park. It happens when I press the brake pedal, and also when I release the break pedal. Sounds like some kind of locking mechanism.

Tighten both pedals with the right pedal wrench. If you have clipless pedals, make sure that there’s no loose fit between the pedal and cleat. Tighten the cleat tension screw properly to eliminate the noise.

It’s coming from the front end of the car, in the wheel well and it’s always just one click from one side of the car, but sometimes I do get 2 clicks from 1 side then the other.

What do you hear when you brake at low speeds?

Most of the time when I brake at low speeds I hear a clicking type sound, that is fairly faint. I do NOT hear squeaking, grinding or any high pitched noises that might indicate my brake pads are wearing down, or anything that sounds really bad. I also do NOT feel anything in the pedal with the clicking/tapping.

Why does my Honda Civic make a clicking sound?

I have 2014 Honda Civic; couple of months ago, my car’s brakes started making a weird ‘Clicking’ sound when I would apply brakes first time after my car is parked for say around 30 mins or so. Once made the sound, it won’t make that sound again while my driving until the car is again parked for some decent amount of time.

What makes a clicking sound when you apply the brakes?

When the brakes are applied the pad shifts resulting in the click. If you remove the pads you may detect a shiny spot on one or more of the “ears” of the pad. Assuming that is the issue, how dangerous and damaging would this be? Depending on amount of wear because of inaction? – TruthOf42 Apr 23 ’14 at 19:10

Why do I hear a clicking sound in my tire?

It could be something really obvious – the clicking could be caused by a small object that is stuck in your tire tread like a pebble. Inspect your tire tread; if there is something stuck you should be able to pry it out with relative ease.
