It power steers to the left but not to the right. The manual steering is ok. The previous owner spent a bunch on money trying to get it fixed, including a new pump yet it’s still broke. Any Ideas?

As it turned out, the power steering system was low on fluid even though the reservoir initially looked as if it had plenty. There was a diesel fuel leak where 2 return lines joined and went back into the fuel tank. The key switch also did not work, and after some wire tracing and a little checking with a multi-meter those issues got resolved too.

Very slight movement – 1/16″ or less. That movement is all it takes to energize the power steering. You will also see slop in the pins connecting the linkage, possibly the turnbuckle itself is flopping.
