What does it mean when the AC is off on a 2008 Impala?
51 people found this helpful. Received the same warning on my wife’s 2008 Impala = engine hot/ AC off. She brought the car in to have the diagnostic done, and got a PO128 Code. If the engine doesn’t maintain specific temp parameters (doesn’t warm up fast enough/maintain temp), this warning will display.
How can I tell if my Chevy Impala engine is hot?
Temperature coolant sensor you meant. Check the coolant level and check the hoses from the radiator if are hot (just touch and let go). This would show if the thermostat is ok. Also you could step out of the car and leave the interior fan on the highest mark to see if temperature is coming down.
What does engine hot, AC off message mean?
My wife just called to tell me she had gotten an “Engine hot, AC off” message when she was leaving the subdivision in our 2007 SS. She said she also got another message, approximately “engine powered down”. No codes yet, but I’ll get some when I get home tonight.
What causes the engine light to go off in a Chevy Impala?
I have a 2008 Impala with just over 131,000 miles on it. Recently, I had this same problem, in addition to the engine light coming on. Took it to a dealer, said it was a bad thermostat, and the oil pressure sensor was causing the engine light to go off. Replaced both and that seemed to fix it.

Is the engine hot a / C turned off code?
Recently the ENGINE HOT A/C TURNED OFF warning pops up, but the engine isnt really hot. It seems to reset itself after a while. I though it did it more in wet weather, but today is dry (though yesterday rained). It did this yesterday.
