What should the temp of a Dodge truck be?
It makes the truck run a little richer which also helps keep you from pinging. my 360, and 2 other rams in the family, both with 318 run in the range from 195-200 with the factory 195 degree stats. jhm…i wouldn’t think that with the stock stat the engine should run as hot as 215.
Why does my Dodge Ram have no heat?
If your Ram has no heat at all, it is entirely possible that the thermostat is stuck open. When this happens, coolant constantly cycles through the engine. On very cold days, this cooling capacity is not needed, and the engine never warms up. Here’s more on no heat diagnosis if this is what you are experiencing.
What should the temp of my Ram be?
Just depends how dirty the coolant was. mine runs about 200 solid all the time. 215 is too hot for the winter time, unless it’s loaded down. Check your coolant level. Your thermostat might be starting to stick also. If the cooling system test good then replace your thermostat and flush your cooling system.
Why do you need a 5.7 thermostat on a Dodge Ram?
Something the majority of people want. misuracaf10 likes this. The engine makes more power at lower temps…something the minority of customers want or care about. The stock thermostat temp is better for fuel economy and emissions. Also better for running the heater in cold climates. Something the majority of people want. Click to expand…
