Why is my intake popping?
A leak in the air injection system can also cause the intake to backfire, since this affects the amount of air taken in. Another possible reason is a malfunctioning fuel pump or obstructed air filter. The intake system must be timed correctly so that it can feed fuel and air to the spark plugs at a proper rate.
Why does my air filter pop at idle?
I was driving it to get the air out of the oil. when it started to make a Loud popping out of the air filter. sounds just like the turbo fart sound But it does it all the time even sitting at idle. any ideas? has this happend to any one else? Does it have a skip? Sounds like an issue with an intake valve. You bent or other wise lost a pushrod.

Why does my truck make a thumping noise at idle?
A miss on this engine is clear at idle via a bad shake. These engines do make this noise warming up sometimes. That’s the video of it running. Wasn’t quite as loud as it normally was but you can hear it near the air box.
Why does pressure come out of the air intake?
Turned out the retainer clip in the top of one of the exhaust lifters broke so the pushrod was seated deeper than normal. The pressure couldn’t get out of the cylinder and would instead come out of the intake.

What kind of exhaust makes a popping noise?
Trucks an 06 2500 with EFI by Ryan, CAI, intake horn, and 5″ exhaust. A few weeks ago I noticed a “popping” sound in the exhaust and intake.
