There were also several Hesston balers w/ different model numbers, but again, almost identical to the New Idea 485 & CaseIH 8480. If anything, I’d say the main reason was probably that the New Ideas & Hesston could be had for cheaper than a Case IH 8480, when both were new. We have a New Idea 485, and it has been a very good baler for us.
