Why do serpentine belts get shredded?
The real advantage of a serpentine belt is that it’s easier to change. You change one belt, and it’s done. TOM This belt runs over and around many pulleys that power the accessories, and it sounds to me like one of those pulleys is out of alignment. That’s what’s pulling the belt off-line and causing it to shred.
Are there any problems with my 2003 Duramax?
Thaks for the help. injectors,water pump,headgaskets,injectors again,instrument cluster,steering shaft,pinion seal,and injectors again. I have on 03 with 66,000 on it and know problems. Friend of mine has 03 asmost same truck and know problems with 145,000 on it. Sure love mine. P:S Injectors should be warrantied to 200,000.

Claims with repair orders prior to May 25, 2004 must be submitted to the Service Contract provider. For 2003 vehicles covered by Vehicle Service Contracts, all eligible claims with repair orders on or after October 10, 2006 are covered by this special policy and must be submitted using the labor operation codes provided with this bulletin.
How long can a Duramax go out of service?
This special policy covers the condition described above for a period of 7 years or 200,000 miles (320,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.
