How do you replace bearings on a Rollerblade?

How do you replace bearings on a Rollerblade?

1. Attach one bearing and spacer together and using your thumb, push the assembly into a wheel. 2. Push the other bearing into the opposite side of the wheel making sure to align with the spacer previously installed. Note: Some bearings need to be faced a certain way, so check this before you install the bearings.

Is it necessary to remove a bearing from a shaft?

Although size and space limitations sometimes dictate the necessity of this method, any subsequent nicks and gouges on the shaft or in the housing result in metal removal. This metal removal, in turn, changes the all-important dimensional tolerances and proper fitting of the bearing.

Can a hydraulic puller be used to remove a bearing?

Heavy-duty pullers are made with hydraulic-assist rams, allowing for ease of removal. If the bearing is removed using a high-speed, cut-off tool, and if it is used carelessly, the shaft and housing may be damaged.

How do you put new bearings on a mower?

Press the new bearings into place. Position the top bearing on top of the spindle housing and use a rubber mallet to press it into place so it’s flush. If there is a sleeve that fits over the shaft within the spindle housing, place that into the housing before installing the lower bearing.

What’s the best way to install a new bearing?

Careful handling of the replacement bearing while in storage or during the installation process is imperative. Clean, dry, ambient and vibration-free storage conditions are best. Do not unwrap the bearing until ready to install it. Do not wash out the factory lubricant unless required to do so because of special lubrication requirements.
