Not sure what help I can offer but my 2006 V6 Fusion was one of the first I’ve heard with the melted ignition coil story. After putting in the new coils the PCM was still not sending any power to the coil packs, so I had it replaced; luckily while I was still under the powertrain warranty.

What are the voltages on the ignition coil?
I plugged in power cable to ECU, and found voltages on pins 60, 61, 62, 79, 80 and 81, similar to voltages I found at the coil pack connector. The ECU is trash, so I pried it open being careful to cut away the silicone sealant so I didn’t have to pry too much.
Are there any Ford trucks with melted coils?
The same pcm/coil pack issues occurred on some trucks so the tsb’s were similar. The dead hole #5 is what lead me to this forum. The issue persists. Fully aware of the procedure to replace, and reprogram a pcm… the dealer was very specifically instructed on what to do to the vehicle.
