If ford or chevy run out of DEF they go in to limp mode but the rams don’t as they’re cleaner. They just won’t regen until you fill it again which would eventually be problematic.

My assumption is this happens because of a passive regeneration the truck is constantly regenerating through the higher temperatures of higher speed driving as well as the characteristics of the load if you have one.
