What can I do to stop my engine from sputtering?
You can use a reliable scanner that is able to read and troubleshoot the codes. You can remove the fuel filter and physically test the flow of liquid by blowing through it. A good filter should be able to have a smooth flow when air pressure passes through it. Poor fuel pressure will force the engine to run on lean fuel causing the sputter.
Why does my car stumble every time I push the accelerator?
This lack of heat to the intake manifold caused the extra fuel provided by the accelerator pump to just sit there under the carburetor as liquid, rather than being vaporized into the fuel/air mixture. This caused the car to stumble every time acceleration was called for.
