Ours would have range inhibit, and check trans lights come on and be stuck in one gear if it would go into gear at all. Basically the tcm would get hot and develop a fault putting it into limp mode or neutral while driving, let it sit key off for 20-30 min and would be ok till the tcm got warm again, 5-15 min.
