Throughout the life of the Chrysler Pacifica, the power-steering pump is under constant use and stress. When the power-steering pump starts to burn out or completely dies, you’ll have to remove the pump from the engine compartment and replace it. You will need a couple of household tools and about 30 minutes to complete this job.

Pull the hose away from the pump. Remove the nut that is securing the belt to the pulley and remove the belt from the pump. Remove the bolts that are securing the power-steering pump to the firewall. The bolts are on the back of the pump. Use the ratchet set to remove the bolts. Pull the pump out of the engine housing.
