What does a spool lock solenoid do?

What does a spool lock solenoid do?

SPOOL LOCKĀ® Solenoids When the SPOOL LOCK coil is energized, the plunger pulls-in, allowing free movement of the spool. When de-energized, the spring inside the SPOOL LOCK Solenoid moves the plunger into the spool groove, blocking the movement of the spool.

Why do solenoid coils draw high current when they are removed from their valve stem while Energised?

In AC electric coils the resistance or impedance of the coil is lowest when the solenoid is open, i.e. when the plunger is out. Impedance increases as the plunger is pulled into the closed position. In other words, the high inrush current generates more heat than can be continuously dissipated by the solenoid.

Why is my Bobcat 753 Traction Lock not working?

That one should only have voltage on it for no more than 5 seconds or it will fry the coil. It’s possible this secondary circuit is bad in the coil and that’s what the BICS is sensing. It’s a common problem with these types of solenoid coils.

Why is my Bobcat stuck on the barn floor?

Traction Lock hold open circuit. After going into the more information section it says this: I use my bobcat for odd jobs around the property and right now it is stuck on my barn floor and I need to move it as it is blocking my exit. I used it two days ago, parked up and no problems but now it is being a stubborn mule

Where is the Traction Lock on a bobcat S250?

Not sure about a 753, but on my S250 there is a fuse and relay box that is inside the cab just below and in front of the seat. It contains a 30 amp fuse and a relay for the traction lock. If you can find a similar box on yours, I would start there.

Where does the power go on a Traction Lock?

Follow the wiring from the traction lock relay in the fuse box. It should lead you to the solenoid. Power should go through the fuse to the relay to the solenoid.

Why is the parking brake on my Bobcat not working?

Parking brake locked. Appears no power is going to brake solenoid. Both circuits, pull and hold, check good. Fuse, relay, foot switch, and seat lock all good. All lights except park brake come on when “push to operate” is engaged. Pushing traction lock bypass has no effect. Codes read “none”. All visible wiring appears good.

What to do if your bobcat won’t move?
