If you’re going to add freon it’s best to do this with the engine running, a/c on max and blower on high. If you have rear air, have that on full blast, too. Add to the low side and monitor high side pressure. High side pressure should be 2.2 to 2.5 times the ambient temperature.
How do you charge a diesel refrigerant system?
You have to evacutate the refrigerant and then put the system into a vacuum to remove mouisture. You can charge it using the auto zone cans but you need real gauges not the crap that comes with the can. Also a refrigerant scale comes in handy but you could get pretty close without.

Where is the low side Freon recharge port?
There are 2 ports (both a large and small size) on the metal line running from the evaporator to the condenser, but I can’t find a port between the compressor and the evaporator, which should be the low side. Please let me know where to low side port is. Re: A/C freon recharge – low side port?
