The GM shop manual obviously errored relating to the 4WD switch to a fuse supposedly labeled as an ATC fuse, when only a TREC fuse (30 amp) exists under the hood within the fuse box for this application. This fuse distributes power to the 4WD switch amongst other related circuits.

What should I do if my 4 wheel drive goes out?
It’s fuse #67 in your manual, it’s a J-case fuse. Pull it and if the lights for your 4WD go out, that’s the right one. If so, take it out and reinstall it after a minute or two. Otherwise, you’re probably going to have to take it to the dealer and have them pull the code.
