How can I mend my Ford Mondeo bonnet?

We have a 51 plate mondeo that has exactly the same Ford design fault. If you’ve tried the obvious – key twisting, bonnet sitting, cursing – then cut through the plastic by the key hole so you can see through to the two screws holding the lock mechanism in place. These may need drilling out if not been replaced by conventional screw heads.
