Why is my 2002 LS radiator fan always running?

Why is my 2002 LS radiator fan always running?

My 2002 LS radiator fan is always running and very loud. Does not matter if the engine is hot or cold. To me, it sounds like a fan speed control is stuck in high speed mode. The engine temp sensor appears to be working ok because the temp gauge is working properly and the engine is not over heating.

What to do if your Radiator is not getting hot?

Besides the radiator not getting hot, other signs of blocked valves include hot pipes (not radiator), noisy radiators, and pinhole leaks. Use your bare hands to adjust the thermostatic valve, or a spanner/valve adjust to tweak the lockshield and manual valves.

Is the thermostat on my radiator always red hot?

We’ve noticed that the radiator is always red hot when turned on, regardless of what setting the radiator thermostat is set to. All radiators in the house have thermostats attached, except the one in the room where the thermostat is, and all seem to be working well except this on.

Why does my LS1 over heat and run?

Thermostats usually locks up in one position (closed or open) So it just over heats or runs to cool. Check the air dam down low under the fascia too. If that is damaged, the air will not be funneled into the radiator. Edit: Just read your whole post. The air dam doesn’t come into play until the car is moving.

Can a cold lower radiator be a problem?

In many cases, when it comes to a cold lower radiator hose, there is actually no problem at all! The engine needs to be really hot and almost overheat before the thermostat lets the coolant pass by.

What should I do if coolant is coming out of my radiator?

The radiator cap can deteriorate over time, letting antifreeze slip through when you are driving. A clogged radiator system could be a problem too as it blocks the flow of the liquid. Check the radiator when the coolant disappears without any trace. Replace the worn out radiator cap. Engine overheating and coolant are closely related to each other.

Why is my lower radiator hose not running?

If your car is overheating and at the same time won’t heat the lower coolant hose – You most likely have a problem with your thermostat, which needs to get replaced. The thermostat should be closed when the engine is cold and not running.

Why does my radiator leak when I Turn Off the engine?

The cause of this varies with the main culprits being a leaked hose radiator pipe, a faulty thermostat or hindered coolant circulation. If you experience this, you should turn off the car’s engine immediately and identify the cause of the leaks.
