My mechanic friend said no power is going to the starter selenoid action wire relay(purple wire) and to get the truck to start he removed starter relay cover and manually pushed the relay making connection with key on. Checked the volts on the cigar lighter – nada. Popped the fuse out – blown. New fuse, all works – except for the Dang fuel gauge issue. For anyone that wants to know, I plowed back into my Service DVD, and finally discovered that they don’t refer to this as the OBD connector – they call it the ‘Data Link Connector’!

Check your fuses, I can not remember exactly which one,but I have seen multiple times that the OBD port fuse is blown. I know some smaller GM’s (cavaliers, sunfires) are run off the electric seat fuse. The yuppie speaks the truth. Don’t ask me why GM put the OBD port on that circuit……Pull the cover and swap a fuse in that spot.
