How long does it take to replace clutch on Mini Cooper?
Expect a weekend taking your time for the 1st time you do it, second time shouldn’t take more than 7 hours on your own. One thing to consider is, they may have used torx bolts (common on euro cars) on the pressure plate, make sure you have torx sockets on hand as hex sockets will only mess the bolt heads up.
How much does it cost to replace a flywheel on a Mini Cooper?
I was just quoted £1400 to replace the flywheel (£250) on a MCS by BMW – same amount of work to change a clutch apparently. That would be great. I have found the OEM valeo clutch used in the MINI for £100 delivered so i am going to go for that and hopefully i wont regret it!!! eeeekk Would you say its worth doing the flywheel at the same time?
How much does it cost to change a clutch?
Had to get my clutch changed in a hurry in December. Total cost including OEM clutch and OEM DMF was £900 at Mr. Clutch. £400 was the extra for the flywheel once they’d got it apart. For a laugh I went and got a quote from the local dealer, for just the clutch, no flywheel, £1100!!
Can a Valeo clutch be replaced on a Mini Cooper?
Im not sure what your mini is but I have a valeo Single mass kit on my R53 and it works fine and has a nice light clutch. Depending on the miles, if you have the flywheel off, you may as well replace the rear main seal (not hard to do) and the input shaft seal to the gearbox (again not hard to do).
