Why when I brake does my car pull to one side?
If your car pulls to one side when you brake, this is likely to be a problem with the braking system. A sticking caliper or a fault with a wheel cylinder can cause a brake on one side to grab harder than that on the other so that the car veers to one side.
Why does my car pull to the left when I brake?
A wheel bearing that has too much play or looseness may cause the brake rotor to become misaligned with the brake caliper (and its pads). When braking, the entire brake pads might not make contact with the rotor as they do on the other side. This means you’ll have less friction on one side and your vehicle will pull towards one side.
What to do when you have a brake pull?
When these sides become stuck (seized) the caliper will either not fully engage or release creating a brake pull. An easy way to check this is too take the car for a drive while using the brakes heavily. Then use an infrared laser temperature reader to rear the temperature of each rotor.
