The lights on my shifter do not work so I cannot see what gear at night. How do I fix this? have u had shifter off? when the guys put my uhf in the didnt quite screw the screw down that is on top of shift. lights stop working and u shift between gears without the button. When do you turn the 4×4 switch does it light up?
No the switch does not light up at all. The 4X4 and LOW RANGE in the instrument cluster only light up when I start the engine and then go out like all the others. Nothing lights up when I turn the 4×4 switch.

2006 silverado 1500. 4×4 would not engage on mine. I would receive service 4wd message on dash and 4wd switch would change light locations randomly. Changed swich and it did not fix the problem.

Why is my 4WD light not working on my GMC Sierra?
Selector Switch was giving me issues about 3 years ago (64,000 mi). Shifting out of drive,stuck in 4WD hi/low and couldn’t switch it back or shifts to neutral and cant switch to 2WD. The sensor in the transfer case had a bad seal and fluid was getting in and shorting it out.
