The access panel will not gain you access to the vapor canister. It is attached to the top left hand side of the fuel tank and the tank will need to be lowered to gain access to it, you may not have to remove it completely but it will need to come down some to get at it. I eat brains… gimme brains!

Thank you. When you fill your gas tank, a lot of fumes build up in the fuel tank and usually excess fumes come out of the fuel filled tube and out to atmosphere or into a recovery system in the fuel pump handle.
