Why does my 1999 Ford Explorer have a check engine light?

It has a check engine light that is caused by the 4.0 running lean left bank but it hasn’t left me stranded yet. The 4.0 feels a little bogged down with the A.C. running though. Love the room in the back when the seats are folded down. Maintenance is usually easy although i have gone through a couple wheel bearings and 1 alternator while owning it.

What kind of repairs do you do on a Ford Explorer?
