This vehicle is 4wd. While traveling at highway speed, the electric shift transfer case shifted into neutral without warning.

What does a GM transfer case motor do?
One is a 1999 model, the other a 2000. Both use the same controls and happen to have stored the same DTC. The basic system consists of a transfer case motor and encoder, front differential actuator, transfer case module, speed sensors, switches and park input and output to the PCM.
