What happens when you dry start a diesel heater?

If you dry start your diesel heater that’s A LOT of metal on metal before the fuel pump gets its first sip of diesel. Unfortunately this isn’t one of the reversible diesel heater installation mistakes. Make sure you prime the fuel line before you connect the line between the fuel filter and the fuel pump.

How does combustion take place in a diesel heater?

As we already know, air is a critical element in the operation of a diesel air heater. Combustion in this heater can only take place when air mixes with diesel and the mixture are ignited. It is what makes the air inlet and outlet pipes critical components of the heater. They help ensure the flow of air in and out of the heater.

What kind of fuel does a diesel air heater use?

A diesel air heater is a heating device that uses diesel as its primary fuel source. It is this diesel that mixes with air to produce heat that is used to warm a vehicle’s external environment. A standard diesel air heater will only use a small amount of fuel to heat the vehicle. It is also pretty easy to install and use.

What happens when you put a diesel heater on wrong angle?

This means the fuel pump wears out more quickly AND the heater doesn’t run efficiently (it messes with the amount of diesel that reaches the heater) This is the most common of the diesel heater installation mistakes… but it’s an easy fix: The fuel pump should be mounted on a 15-30 degree angle to allow the air bubbles to escape.

Is it safe to use diesel fuel in a heater?

I agree with todays diesel fuel. It will work great and burn clean. Used to use heaters in hog houses years ago and had to use only the best kerosene and it was still very dangerous if a heater would misfire. Sure don’t miss those times
