Where does the fuel go in a Ford PowerStroke?
Where does the fuel go in a Ford PowerStroke?
If I am reading that diagram correctly I see that the fuel enters at A . Fuel goes through the inlet pressure control valve “5” and through the ITP “1”. From there it goes to the VCV “2” and then to inlet side of the hpfp.
How can I improve fuel economy in my 6.4L Powerstroke?
If you want to improve fuel economy in your 6.4L Powerstroke you’re going to have to spend some money. While a straight pipe exhaust and a tuner will greatly increase your mpgs, deleting or turning off emissions devices is federally illegal on any highway driven or registered vehicle.
How does the DPF work on a 6.4L diesel?
While the DPF does this successfully reduce tailpipe emissions on the 6.4, they were the first emissions system of this type ever offered on a Powerstroke Diesel engine. Like any new design, there were a number of common issues found on these early and rudimentary diesel particulate filters.
What’s the fuel pressure on a Ford PowerStroke?
If it does make Pressure, the spray is lethal. Even if there was a limit in the pcm to back power down due to high egts, it would never fuel pressure to below 4400k psi. With your scan tool, check what fuel pressure is commanded, vs actual. I bet it’s a pump.
What to know if your Ford 6.4L Powerstroke is failing?
This is the first sign of a failing 6.4L Powerstroke. As the crack grows, the injector continues to fire fuel into the cylinder, but, there is no heat in the cylinder because it cannot make a good enough seal and create the compression it requires. It may burn some of the fuel, but some of that fuel is simply dumping into the engine oil.
