I just changed the rear diff oil on my 2005 duramax and the book calls for a little over 3 quarts. However it took 4 quarts before the fluid was level with the check/fill plug? Is the capacity really only 3 quarts and did I over-fill? In every other rear-end you fill it until it comes out of the check hole. 4 qts should be fine.
