How to fix loose steering on Chevy Tahoe?

The only real PITA was getting at that locknut and adjuster. The trans cooler lines run right over top of the gearbox so it was not only hard getting the nut loose (constant flipping the open end wrench over and occasionally switching to the closed end box side), but getting the allen wrench in there was a PITA as well. Nice!

Why are my front shocks leaking on my Chevy Tahoe?

Due to covid we just brought the vehicle in to the dealer and found out the front shocks are leaking and the rear bags needn’t to be replaced as they have holes in them they want 2900 to fix. Totally unacceptable there have been numerous complaints on this issue.

Why does my Chevy Tahoe steer like a new truck?

In my case it was as simple as a loose steering gear box. At 86K miles on a heavy vehicle I can see it needing adjustment sometime in the vehicle’s lifespan. So today I took about 10 minutes total and made two separate adjustments to the gearbox and it steers like a new truck. A warning/disclaimer though.

Is it time to service your Chevy Tahoe?

Gm recommends that you power down the vehicle for 15 seconds to give the StabiliTrak time to reboot. If it works after firing your Tahoe back up, great! If not, it may be time to have it serviced. Sometimes this means the entire rear end. Others may find their Tahoe doing a “nose dive” when coming to a stop. To check if you are having air suspension problems, give your car the “bounce test.”

How to disable autoride message light Chevy Tahoe?

If you just wanna disable it, pull the Neg on the battery and then pull the RTD fuse under the hood. Hook the Neg back up and you wont have any more error message. What else does pulling the RTD fuse do? Thanks for the quick feedback!! I can’t help but wonder what else is being disabled when the RTD fuse is pulled?
