Click to expand… My 850 had numerous problems. The pto shaft cover that directs fluid to the forward and reverse clutches had grooves worn in it from the oil control rings. After the oil warmed up, it would start bypassing, keeping both forward and reverse clutch packs partially engaged.

New fluid is circulating through filter but there is no transmission pressure or torque converter pressure on guages and the transmission will not engage to move the tracks. It was moving fine prior to draining and replacing fluid with Case TCH. I bled the brake lines after a suggestion from a dealer.

What model 850? To remove the transmission you undo the tracks , disconnect drive shafts hoses etc and the whole assembly comes down and out the back with the finals still attached. Those trans are pretty complicated.

If your pressure gauges are still working you will often see the pressure drop off when the problem pack is engaged, accompanied by a time delay in selection. Drain the oil & pull the suction screen – it will tell you the story.

Why are the brake lines on my Dozer not activated?
The brake lines can put pressure on the slave cyl that force the spool valves into neutral. I would suspect that is the issue. The two slave cyl located on the brakes themselves must NOT be activated, so make sure the plunger is all the way down on them. You can’t post conmments that contain an email address.

Temp never goes past the edge of the yelow. If i pile snow on the trans and wait 10 mins, it goes again for 15-20 mins and than the same thing, Pressure drops and stays low for a while then comes back up, but the machine doesn’t always move even when the pressure comes back.

What kind of oil for a td-7c bulldozer?
I should use 10W30 for this bulldozer in the transmission and deferential, The10W30 is the right oil for the TD-7C. He would sale me the Hi-Tran Ultra for $79.20 per 5 gallon at my own risk!
