Sucks it happened to you. According to a TSB the metal flap was progressively eliminated in MY 2006 forward when they changed from plastic necks to metal. If the part of the neck that makes contact with the fuel nozzle is metal then there wouldn’t have been a flap there. Is the little metal flap completely gone? Did it break off?
