Why is my 2007 a / C compressor not kicking on?

2007 A/C compressor not kicking on. Will be working on it tomorrow but looking for help tonight. Will for sure check the fuse first . I’m guessing the compressor will have maybe 3 wires. One big gauge wire for the main 12 volts for when its on.

We live in Ft Lauderdale and we practically NEVER shut the A/C off so I highly suspect that it being run so much from 2007 has simply caused the compressor to go tits up. It only has 82,000 miles, but the constant use of A/C down here is pretty brutal on a mechanical compressor. Thanks guys !

Where is the a / C switch on a Dodge Nitro?

The center dial on the dash is one you press in to turn on the A/C ( little snowflake emblem on it ) That light activates so I think the switch is probably good. I figure if I got the proper voltages then it’s a bad compressor.
