This shifts the dowel and the rocker arms are no longer properly aligned, so the oiling holes in the rocker arms are no longer in the proper spot, and therefore do not get the proper amounts of oil. This lack of oil to the arms causes the noise. The fix is to replace both sides of the rocker arm assembly.
