Where is the blend door actuator on a Dodge Charger?
Where is the blend door actuator on a Dodge Charger?
There’s single zone configurations and dual-zone configurations. Single zone has one blend door actuator on the driver side. The dual-zone has one blend door actuator on the driver side and another blend door actuator on the passenger side.
Is the a / C actuator on my 07 Charger messed up?
I made a post a few weeks ago regarding what has to either be a messed up A/C actuator or blend door in my 07 charger with dual climate control and after much research I am still super confused.
What to do if your blend door actuator is not working?
A DTC will help identify which actuator door is having the problem. 1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. 2. Remove the instrument panel silencer from underneath the driver side of the instrument panel. 3. Remove the three screws that secure the blend door actuator to the driver side of the HVAC air distribution housing.
How long does it take for the a / C blend door to work?
For the first few minutes after doing this, the drivers side air will blow slightly cooler then before (but not cold) and gradually get warmer as a I drive ultimately getting warm again within 10 minutes, while the passenger side stays consistent on whatever I have the temp dial set to.

The blend door actuator for the single zone heating-A/C system is also located on the driver side end of the HVAC air distribution housing, close to the dash panel. The blend door is mechanically connected to the driver side blend air door.
Why is my air conditioner not working on my Dodge Durango?
The three most common causes for AC issues on the Durango include leaks, problems with your compressor and an electrical climate control issue. To trouble shoot the AC on your Durango, begin by checking the controls. Listen to the blower motor to see if the noise made by the blower increases when turned high and vice versa.
Why does my Blend door not turn on?
Since this is just a small electronic part, this won’t be unheard of. If that happens, the blend door won’t work, and it’s likely your temperature will just be stuck on one setting with no ability to adjust the intensity up and down, or alternate between things like the lower vents or the defroster.
What happens when you replace the actuator on a blend door?
Once all of the mounting screws have been removed the actuator should become loose. Grasp the actuator and pull it from its mount to remove. Before installing the new actuator it’s a good idea to manually turn the blend door in both directions to ensure it is not stuck which will cause the new actuator to fail.

Can a heater be removed from a blend door?
If the door is stuck the heater plenum with need to be removed and the problem resolved before installing the new unit. To test the blend door operation and too double check that you are changing the correct actuator motor turn the blower motor on and work the door in each way. You will be able to feel the air change temperature or vent level.
Why is a blend door called a door?
The blend door is called a door because it really is just a flat panel of plastic. It opens or closes to allow air flow in whatever direction is required. It’s about as low-tech as your car can get, where the actual technology is in the actuator itself.
