Why is the fuel pump on my CAV not working?
I have fuel at the pump at the bleed point above the id tag. However at the end of the pump where the lines go on to pump up to the cylinders I have no fuel. I doubt this is a pump problem, since it runs with a pull start.
Why is the fuel pump and relay not working?
The ignition circuit, which includes the ignition switch, controls power to many components, including the fuel pump and relay. If there is an issue with the switch or the circuit, perhaps a wiring problem, then power to the fuel system may be cut off.

Got good fuel at the injectors and got her to fire up in under 5 minutes. Glad it worked and you didn’t have to take the top off the pump. Always add a little ATF or 2 cycle engine oil to the Diesel fuel to lube those old pumps, they don’t like this ULS Diesel fuel and never use BIO Diesel either.
Why is my CAV pump stuck in prime mode?
There’s a small spring and piston in the regulating valve. If the spring breaks or the piston gets stuck the pump can get stuck in prime mode. Not sure if that’s your problem but it’s easy to check.

Why does my fuel pump not prime when I turn it on?
Pulled fuel pump relay and put in a jumper wire to run the fuel pump and it started. Put the fuel pump relay back in and it starts and drives, but the fuel pump still doesn’t prime when turning the key on. I’m afraid that after sitting overnight, it will once again refuse to start.
