Have a 01 jetta (ALH) with about 400K (km) on it and over the last month it has developed a very loud whine (sounds like a jet engine winding up or a police siren) as the rev increase (everyone walking on the street turns and looks). It is quite obviously coming from the turbo area and there are no air leaks in the system that I can find.
