Why is my trailer brake bulb not working?
Immediately after driving my new Escape off the lot I have been getting 2 alarms: “trailer brake bulb fault” and “Trailer turn bulb fault”. In addition, I get both of these alarms even though I have yet to hook a trailer up! It is intermittent and the dealer has not been able to find anything wrong.
Can a Ford service person repair a trailer brake bulb?
Ford customer service has been little help saying they have not seen this type of problem before and, even though I have furnished the dealer with pictures of the fault messages, Ford’s corporate policy is that they can not authorize a repair unless a Ford service person “sees” the problem and finds something “broke”! Any ideas?

Is there special trailer tail light bulb for turn?
That type of wiring is fairly complex and is primarily found on German vehicles (Volkswagens in particular) but not all. But even on trailer stop, tail, and turn signal lights the functions are all on one bulb, sometimes 2 depending on the light. But there are still 2 separate wires; one for turn and brake, and one for running lights.
