Why is my AC coming out slow?
Why is my AC coming out slow?
If it gets too cold, moisture from your home’s air can freeze and form ice on the evaporator coil. This ice limits the flow of air into your home. Low airflow issues (dirty air filter, blocked vents or malfunctioning blower) Low refrigerant levels, usually caused by a refrigerant leak.
Why does the air come out cold when the a / C is on?
A/C is cold until the fan is on high, then it’s warm. When the a/c fan is on any setting other than the highest setting the air comes out cold. When the fan is set to the highest setting, it only comes out warm. This happens regardless of a/c or max a/c setting, regardless of fresh or recirculated air, and regardless of car speed.
Why does my car air conditioner only blow cold air while?
So if holding the engine at 2500rpm for a few minutes doesn’t make it as cold as if you were driving, check that your fan is spinning. Some cars (usually older cars and trucks) with mechanical fans (vs electrical fans) just don’t move enough air at idle when they sit.

Why is my AC not working at the charge level?
At a certain air flow rate the AC can’t keep up, and the air that does come out then will be warmer than at lower flow rates. My guess is your AC system isn’t working at the capacity it did when new, and as posted above by the experts here, the charge level is probably the first place to look.

The moisture can freeze into ice crystals right at the orifice tube or expansion valve, clogging it and stopping the flow. The symptom appears as: blows cold, then warm. If you shut off turn on the heat for a while, that’ll melt the ice crystals and the system will start cooling again. But it will still freeze up.

If the air itself is too cold on you, try placing an “AC Vent Deflector or Diverter” (amazon/google) where the air flows out so it does not get blown right on you where you sit. Also make sure it is not blowing directly towards the thermostat sensor, which will cause more frequent cycling.
