Why does the Pto not work on a John Deere tractor?
Why does the Pto not work on a John Deere tractor?
I noticed that neither the “540” or “1000” RPM lights illuminate when the PTO is engaged, do you think it could be the indicator at the end of the shaft that tells the tractor which gears to use on the shaft that is bad?
Why did my PTO stop working on my 6300?
My 6300 did exactly the same thing and ended up being a weak solenoid. To test you can swap the solenoids from the rear locking diff to see if it takes care of the problem. (they are the same) It was the PTO Selenoid.
What to do if your PTO won’t disengage?
If this is the case, it has no power to rotate, but requires a brake to stop/hold it. The PTO brake is released when the PTO is engaged, but the brake is set when the PTO is disengaged. You can check for this possibility by prying a 2×4 up against the PTO shaft to see if you can stop it from rotating.
Can a PTO turn when the brake is worn out?
One thing which I failed to address in previous post is the possibility of your PTO brake being worn out. An independent PTO will turn when disengaged due to fluid drag. If this is the case, it has no power to rotate, but requires a brake to stop/hold it.
What causes engine to die when PTO is engaged?
From what I can see the only safety switch that would kill your engine when engaging the blades is your seat switch. As EricG said, just jump across the contacts on your seat switch. If the blades engage normally then the switch is bad. If it still doesn’t work then you may have a bad Seat Delay Module Control.

Where does the PTO go on a 3032E lawn mower?
The 3032e is rear pto only (our configuration), no midmount PTO to select. Only a rocker switch to engage/disengage when tractor is running. The implement I was hooking up was a finish mower, shaft alignment is near horizontal when it is on the ground and no part of the blades catch the ground to make the shaft turning harder.

How do you change the PTO on a lawn mower?
Take the negative lead from the volt meter and clip it to the other tab. Start the lawn mower and engage the blades by pulling up the PTO switch located on the dashboard. If the volt meter reads 12 volts, replace the electric PTO.
