Why does my power sliding door not close?
Why does my power sliding door not close?
It opens fine, but when closing it gets to the very end, then re-opens. If I tug on the door a little to help it, it will close all the way. I know from poking around a little on the forum that the power doors can be a little finicky on these vans. Is there a fix documented here somewhere? Door re-calibration maybe? Or am I stuck with a $$ repair?
What’s the problem with the sliding door on a Sienna?
My wife alarmed me of our15 Sienna hurt by this pwr sliding door issue the same as above today: the door can close till almost 2 inches to full close then retract. I spent 30 mins troubleshooting the sliding track area but no visible obstruction was detected.
What to do if your power sliding door bounces?
You have a broken or shorted wire in the wire harness ‘chain’ that runs under the door opening. Un-bolt the end near the front side of the suspect door, take apart the chain, inspect and repair. Or, if you see issues, buy a Dorman replacement harness. (There are several youTube vids on how to do this) Sweet! Thanks!

The door was repaired under Toyota’s extended warranty on this door problelm. The warranty letter stated it will replace up to 120K miles. The dealer was going to charge $120 for diagnostics if it were not covered. We were blessed to hear it was covered under the warranty extension.

Why is the sliding door on my Honda Odyssey not closing?
Please try again later. Odyssey’s have a history of losing a bumper that fits in between the sliding door and the door rail stop. The bumper gets old and brittle and eventually falls out. When it does, the sliding door goes back to far and won’t close using the door handles. It’s a simple fix and I show you how to get it working again.

What to do when your side door won’t open?
The only way you can get the door open is to pull the handle and then hold it for two or three seconds. This happens when the latch motor fails, which is fairly common in Toyota Siennas.
Can a power sliding door on a Sienna close?
When I opened the power sliding door on my 2004 Sienna and tried to close it, it went to within an inch or two of closing and then stopped and opened again. I tried several times with the same result.
How does the PSD work on a power sliding door?
The clutch enables the PSD to be operated manually when de-energized, or by the motor when energized. The PSDM uses the PSD detent switch to determine when the door is latched, ajar, or open. The detent switch is part of the sliding door lock assembly.
What is the detent switch on a sliding door?
The detent switch is part of the sliding door lock assembly. The detent switch signal circuit is supplied 12 volts through a resistor within the module. The signal circuit is briefly pulled to ground as the door moves from latched to ajar while opening, or from ajar to latched while closing.
