Why does my mileage go up fast?
A common cause of bad mileage is your own driving habits. If you are an aggressive driver, likely you accelerate to quickly. This causes more fuel to be used, and will use up more gas than you need. The type of motor oil that you are using can also affect your gas mileage up to 12%.

What was the fuel milage on a 1996 Ford F250?
1996 F250 Crew cab, short bed, 4×4 with the 460 and E4OD trans. I have put the full banks kit. (headers, y pipe, muffler and tailpipe). K&N air filter, flex a lite electric fans. First time out of the shop the truck made 17.6 miles per gallon. After a few trips the milage strated to drop. 15 then 12 then 9. Put in a new O2 sensor same thing.
What’s the idle speed on a 1996 Ford truck?
When I tap the gas, 8 seconds, then eases down to normal idle of 700-800. Dang, I don’t remember it doing that. Played and played until it was at full operating temp, and it *still* does this.
Why does my Ford F250 460 get 27 mpg?
Reason is you need to remember the throttle plate in the throttle body dictates the amount of air that is injested at any RPM, not the air filter, or exhaust. Had a guy come on another board to tute his mods and said he got 27 mpg.
What should my fuel milage be at 60 mph?
If I drive at 60mph I can reach 16mpg, but only if rolling hills are used to my benefit. Best thing you can do to decrease some friction and heat, and perhaps (perhaps!) gain some mileage is to use full synthetic fluids in the engine, transmission, pumpkins, and transfer case.
