I pulled the small flat motor off and noticed the shaft was jammed and would not turn when i moved the temperature selector knob from hot to cold. I reached in and turned the air valve with my finger and verified that it was not stuck.

Why does my Chevy Tahoe blow hot air?
I leave the rear air on auto for both fan and vent control and just leave it at 70 on the temp. If this does not work, there are some threads on here about replacing the actuator or manually resetting. I have a 2002 Tahoe that is having some problems with the rear a/c.

Please post any answers as I would like to know as well. a/c is working fine. sounds like the diverter door is remaining open allowing the fan to blow air through the heater core. this door is often controlled by engine vac or and electric door motor closing device. A good mech at the dealer should have found this.

How to fix hot air when a / C is on?
You will then turn ignition to the OFF position for atleast 10 seconds, then start the engine and confirm the new actuator is working correctly by turning the climate knob from cold to hot. If all was done correctly it will work!!

You will see a wire harness covered in factory foam and next to this on the right you will see a flat silver box that is your ECM.
