Why does my Ford Fiesta make a knocking noise?

Why does my Ford Fiesta make a knocking noise?

It’s a 2010 (MK7 I think) Ford Fiesta that has developed a knocking noise on the NSF, mainly since hitting a pothole. It’s gradually got worse and is very noticeable on full lock. We can’t feel any play in the wheel or when getting a bar in there, it all feels pretty solid.

Why did my Fiesta MK6 knock over a bump?

A batch of circa 1989 Astras came through with the rear shock absorbers knocking over bumps. Obviously, there was nothing to see underneath the car, and it was only listening to the exposed part of the shock absorber in the boot with a stethoscope which enabled us to find the fault. NC`s suggestion was a good one.

Is the Fiesta MK6 suspension knock under warranty?

If only done 12ooo miles.Cannot see it being drop links. Is it not under warranty..I think I misread your post..Bear in mind tyres can give the same illusion. they can amplify sudden knocks as you stated. giving the the illusion a suspension prob… Yes, still under warranty, and got local dealer to check but they they said it was OK.

Why does my Ford Fiesta keep clunking?

Took it to Ford, the nice mechanic came out with me, heard it and went “aaah”. Thinks it may be a strut (?), something to do with shock absorbers? although it’s not been up on his ramp yet! but he has worked in the garage for about 100 years so I’m trusting him.

Why is there a clunking noise under my Ford?

The car suspension was checked by a Ford dealer and found to be OK. They did however, change the nearside front linkage assembly the previous week. They also found that the offside alloy wheel had a dent so that it did not run true when rotated. They said this would not cause the noise I described, I hope you find this information helpful.

Why does my Ford front wheel drive make a rattling noise?

Outer tie rod ends are also common, but they usually do not cause much noise. Ford front-wheel-drive cars already have miserable tire wear, and a worn tie rod will make that even worse. There is a tool you might be able to borrow or rent from an auto parts store that borrows them called the “chassis ear”.

Are there drop links in the Ford Fiesta?

The drop links are the long type and you can twist them side to side in your hand but they feel solid. The NSF tyre does have inside wear but they’ve only had the car 5-6 months so this is probably from before they bought it. I assume as with all Fiestas it only has adjustable front toe?

What’s the problem with my 2011 Ford Fiesta?

Fold down the seat back and go for a test drive. Hi guys, new member but have had my 2011 Ford Fiesta SES since about 2013 91,000 miles, and was wondering if you could help. I don’t really know much about cars, but I love my fiesta, so I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with my baby.
